katarin came to the white room shortly after her mother died. it was the only way she could speak to the witch-girl. she had seen her mother die, and she knew the murderer's name, but she also knew gwynne would die for it. there was no other solution. it wasn't so much that katarin minded the witch-girl, or was even jealous of the way her brother glimmered when the witch-girl was near, but that witch-girls were the ones to pay for such things, and katarin couldn't have it any other way. she certainly couldn't accuse the real murderer.
